Who we are

Paw Alliance International, or PAI, is an independent Austrian animal welfare organisation with a European perspective on responsibility and change. Guided by the claim “A New Standard of Animal Rescue.”, we connect hands-on animal protection with education, public dialogue and long-term political work. Our goal is a world in which animals are recognised as sentient beings and receive protection, dignity and dependable rights.

One connected approach

Our work brings together three perspectives. Today, we want campaigns, petitions and accessible information to create awareness and make concrete action possible. For tomorrow, we are developing the vision of a European Animal Rights Convention intended to strengthen shared and binding standards. The planned PAI Sanctuary is our practical vision for the future: a place dedicated to rescue, care, rehabilitation and education.

How we work

PAI aims to act professionally, respectfully and transparently. We seek dialogue with committed individuals, experts, organisations, media representatives and political decision-makers. Our work is built around understandable goals, responsible handling of personal data and honest communication about the status of every initiative. Projects, partnerships and results are only presented as confirmed once they have been reviewed and can be substantiated. Step by step, we want to build an organisation that combines compassion with professional standards and prepares change as carefully as it advocates for it.

Our Future

We envision a nature-oriented sanctuary where rescued animals can find safety, medical care, rehabilitation, and a life of dignity.

Sustainable change can only be achieved when education, political change, and practical solutions are addressed together.
